About this event
CPDP 2026 (Computers, Privacy and Data Protection) is the 19th international edition of the multidisciplinary CPDP conference in Brussels, focusing on how different regional and political approaches to governing digital society compete, overlap, and converge. The 2026 theme uses Brussels’ role in setting global digital regulation standards (e.g., GDPR and newer rules on digital services, markets, data, and AI) as a backdrop for debate about digital sovereignty, infrastructure governance, trade disputes, and the real-world experience of rights and risks in a data-driven society. The conference explicitly aims to surface and engage disagreement as a democratic strength, bringing together law, policy, technology, markets, and civil society perspectives. Programming includes panels, paper presentations, and interactive workshops, with open calls inviting submissions across novel subjects related to digital society, including (but not limited to) legal and data protection topics.
