About this event
ACM Designing Interactive Systems (DIS 2026) is an ACM conference on designing interactive systems and related human-computer interaction (HCI) research and practice. The 2026 theme, “Beyond Interaction,” frames interactive systems as entangled with sociocultural, political, economic, ethical, and planetary concerns, encouraging an ecosystemic perspective beyond dyadic human-system interactions. The conference invites researchers, practitioners, and educators to explore how interactive technologies create broader ripple effects and how “interactivity” might be redefined in response. The page lists key submission categories and deadlines for full papers/pictorials, workshops, PWiP/doctoral consortium, interactivity demonstrations, and the student design competition, and notes ACM’s transition to fully open access publishing starting in 2026.
